Day 12 – Grañon to Villambistia (June 7)

Map: Day 12

We left Grañon early so we got to see what was left of sunrise. And we stopped for the day in Villambistia. We stayed in an albergue that only had 14 beds.  It was above the only bar in town and it seemed that every male local was in the bar during siesta time. They were a lively crowd.

Today was a day of maximum grumpiness for me. All of the little things (cold showers, no outlets for charging, no privacy, little room to maneuver in the sleeping area, snoring) start to add up. Heather just looked at me and said “I’m going to have wine” and left me alone. Smart decision on her part. Fortunately I got a hot shower and that was a huge help.

This albergue also served a group dinner which included Ian from Australia, Ken and Janice from Australia, Doris from Germany, a young Spanish couple, Marta from Spain, a couple of young Americans and Barry from Ireland. Dinner ended with a group shot of liquer made by the albergue owner. It was quite tasty.

Buen Camino!
